The phone rings and it could be anyone. What if caller I.D. said the number belonged to God? I might even drop the phone, if I saw that on the screen.

I am attempting to show how approachable God could be. At different times I have called on God in scary situations, and he was always there for me. I have also heard story after story of a God, who when ordinary folks prayed to him, he not only heard and answered those prayers, but on many occasions he showed up on their doorsteps.

I remember a time when I was in college, and I had been up until 3 am working on a college paper. I had to be up at 7 am to ready myself for an 8 o'clock class. Dead tired, I forgot to set the alarm. Even if the alarm had gone off, I'm not so sure it would have done the job of waking me up…

Does God exist?

• Is there objective evidence that God exists?

• Where did God come from?

• Can we know God personally?

It is difficult to accept that something has always existed. i read yesterday that the Big Bang theory is now being questioned, and the idea behind it is that the Universe has always existed. It just IS. Same with the idea of "God", you can experience altered states of consciousness and expand your awareness through meditation. The brain does is not where "consciousness" exists, there is plenty of evidence through years of research to prove this. It is an all pervasive 'something". It seems that we are wired to believe that something exists outside of ourselves, something greater.
