I suppose we should add members before we add discussion, eh? Or should we discuss that? :)
First person or 3rd person. Which do you write in and why? Hi, I have written the first book in my Rose Jackson Mystery Series, Fake Pastor, in the first person, and have started writing the 2nd book in the first person. I wonder what others think is the best way to go for them.
In my first novel, The Other Side of Heartache, I use shifting points of view between two narratives. My protagonist, Grace, tells her story in third-person omniscient, while her mother Penny, uses diaries and journals through first-person. Both narrations proved effective as my readers comment they enjoy switching back and forth between the two characters and two different eras while learning what happens to both Grace and Penny.
I'm challenging my writing skills in the novel I'm working on now by using three characters, written all in first-person narrative voice. Each character from three different generations tells her own story solely from her point of view. The reader is up close and personal with each woman's thoughts and motives, even if the narrators are not always unreliable, which builds tension.
For me, I choose the narrative voice by deciding what I want my readers to know from whose perspective and how I want to impart this information.
Hope this helps!

First and third person each have advantages. First person can have a feeling of intimacy as if the narrator is speaking to you.The first person narrator is also a character. Third person can say and show things that the first person narrator can't because he or she has to speak from a single point of view. My favorite is using both, the first person narrator can tell the story about something that has already happened and also comment on his or her experience...use hindsight, share what has been learned. It's a form of third person. That's my 2 cents.
Though writing a novel or a collection of poetry is essential to being published, I'm finding the most difficult part is finding readers. I have my six novels on Amazon Kindle and Clayfield Books.com but marketing is the most difficult. There are so many books being published these days. What are other writers doing to find readers? I believe it is important to keep writing, regardless, but it would be wonderful to have readers.
I am a writter and journalist when ever I write any thing true so I have been hurted very much when I write E-book Shahadat so everybody make difficulties in my job and my husbands job.So now my husband is job less.Honest jornalists can't live in this country.I hope that this atmosphere will change.
I have a very limited understanding about how a person is to write so the writing, can be published. For a person to get something published, where money is received and not self publishing, the person needs to write in the way that the reader expects it to be written. Because of this the person who is reading is the one who is in control of what is written, and not the writer. I would like to see the comments that disagree with this. And how someone can get something published, again and receive money, while still considering it as their own created writing.
