Fran,
I see that you're in Flippin. I'm up in the northwest corner - where the Razorbacks play - close to Fayetteville. So, you write mysteries?
|Hi Fran,
writing in the first person can be very limiting, but if it works for you fine. I run creative writers groups here in Mallorca and find many start in the first person and then get lost in things like the time line or a third person commenting on an emotion which they cannot know about, but as I say we are all individuals so do whatever you feel suits you.
Remember, evyone is entitles to an opinion, listen to them all and then make up your own mind as to what is best for you.
That way you can't blame anyone else and you will develop your own style which is so important.
Good Luck.

HI Fran,
Thank you for welcoming me to the site :) I write Australian crime and to add to the current conversation, my first book had every character in first POV (it worked!) and the second had the main protagonist, DSS Susan Prescott in first and everyone else in third. My next has two characters in first for their introductory chapters and everyone else in third. Hope it works! Looking forward to reading your work :) Have to go up to hospital now, I took my husband in last night. He was so sick with the flu that he was going into shock. Best, Diana.
