Some years back an event occurred in the UK which had a profound effect on me, it was the murder of a child. The police did their job, swiftly arresting the perpetrators. But did our legal system serve justice? Or is crime and punishment more about clever legal arguments that make the story about the perpetrators, rather than the victims. So I wrote 'We Were Swans'. It's a simple tale difficult in the telling, essentially asking, 'what would you do?'
Folk that read it enjoyed it, so a sequel was written; 'Tell Me There's a Reason'. This title tackles child grooming gangs in much the same fashion that 'Swans' deals with murderers.
A third book involving the same principal characters is currently under construction.
