Devil Face by Jeannie van Rompaey

In the late eighties I worked in Brixton, London, a vibrant but notorious district of London known for its racial mix. My novel, Devil Face was inspired by my time spent there.

It tells of a girl with a terrible blemish on her face who suffers as much prejudice in the eighties as the Jamaicans suffered when they arrived in Brixton in the fifties. A friendship between understanding landlady, West Indian Bertha Brown, and Melinda, the girl with the "devil face" leads to disturbing events which make the reader wonder if the fear people feel about Melinda is based is caused by supernatural forces....

My novel can be downloaded FREE for five days from Amazon for five day from 24th August.
